EUR/USD 4 hour chart analysis

Forex Analysis - EURUSD

1st Resistance – 1.3233
2nd Resistance – 1.3302
1st Support – 1.3032
2nd Support – 1.2929
Monthly Pivot – 1.2981
Weekly Pivot – 1.3111

Strategy – As this might be a short-term top, target short position.

Tactics – Taking light short positions below 1.3075. If not in a position stay flat.

Short at 1.3065, with stop at 1.3241 and take profit at 1.2929. Added a pending long order at 1.3241 (same as stop) with a target of 1.3302.

Still short and market remains pretty much the same as yesterday with sideways trading in anticipation of the non farm payroll release at 8:30 EST.

We could remove the stop in case a spike takes us out but it is always safer to take the loss as the next trade is just around the corner. A 4 hour close after NFP above 1.3233 could lead to the next leg up. I have set a long order at 1.3241 and an exit order at 1.3302. No stop for the long order as I want to see the action after NFP. If we continue the downtrend I will cancel the order.

We were able to get in on a buy trade last night on the Cable at 6:00pm EST. We entered at 1.57045 and at the present we are in profit for 74 pips. We’ve moved the stop to break even and are nearing the weekly R1 at 1.5806. I would like to see it head up to R2 at 1.5885.

We have 4 upcoming news releases out for the USD this morning:

1.Employment Cost Index at 8:30am. – Medium Impact.
2.S&P/CS Composite-20 HPI at 9:00am. – Medium Impact.
3.Chicago PMI at 9:45am. – Medium Impact.
4.CB Consumer Confidence at 10:00am. – High Impact.

So far these are all medium impact news events, however, the last one is a high impact news at 10:00am so be very careful around this time.

The markets have closed and the SFTCv5 Live Trading Round officially ended with some of the best results we’ve seen in SFTC history!

More than 2000 traders joined the challenge in the Demo round of this series of the competition, and 33 of the best traders qualified to trade a $1000 live account during the Live round. Now, the markets are closed with 8 traders with a positive gain.

It was only a couple of months ago that we began the search of the next SFTC trading stars, and we’ve finally come to a close. After the last tick, the Live Round officially closed with the top trader having gained a total of 161.12 %.

It’s the last week of live trading in the Surefire Trading Challenge V5, and there are 12 survivors out of 33 of the best traders from the Demo trading round.

Right now, the top traders are as follows:

1. cc_fx – 162.43 %
2. adil149 – 47.66 %
3. chapman – 28.65 %
4. cmac0351 – 21.28 %
5. pinkflint – 18.00 %

Winning against over 2,000 traders in the Demo Round, and rising to the top amongst 33 traders in the Live round, these traders have gone a long way in their trading careers and have gained a lot of valuable experience.

I’m really looking forward to the end of the competition since I will be interviewing the winners. We’re really getting to know the traders more each week since the beginning of the competition. And I think it’s right that we get to know them better not just as traders, but also as unique individuals.

The live round will end at the close of the markets this Friday, the 11th of November, and everybody at HQ is so excited to see who will conquer the Surefire Trading Challenge V5.

NFP On The 4th Of November

Just a quick note, the Non Farm Payroll will be announced tomorrow, the 4th of November. So be careful as you look at your charts tomorrow. If you have open trades today, you might want to protect your positions by closing it early or trailing your stops.
